Dears Members,

2006 has got to be one of our club most memorable years. After the debacle of the joint venture, a lot of people were prepared to write us off. Going back to the “tin shed”, as Whitlam Park was once described by some malicious tongues, was seen as a recipe for failure. However, in the true spirit of the Racing Sports Club we have bounced back stronger and better equipped to take on future challenges. Both of our teams have surpassed themselves by winning their respective competitions and the club took out the honours of being named the 2006 Champion Club of the Amateur League.   A note of thanks goes to all who have played a part in this triumph; in particular our appreciation goes to Jeff Albert and Didier Chasles for their dedication and leadership.

On the social scale, we have had four very successful dances. Our end of year ball 2005 was a big success which we followed with the Independence Dance held on the 18 th March. On the 22 nd July, our winter ball proved still very popular in spite of the cold weather. Our last one was a retro night held at the Blacktown Bowling Club and at the end of the dance many members & guests asked for an encore.

I take this opportunity to thank the Football Co-ordinator (Jacques Peroumal), the Social Co-ordinator (Patricia Blake) and the Canteen Co-ordinator (Corine Le Merle) for their dedication in organizing their respective area of responsibility to ensure that the club forges ahead. The committee has discussed and approved that our club moves from a company to an association under the Fair Trading Act. This decision was made because the cost of administering a company has substantially increased over the years. We will be presenting a resolution to our members at a special general meeting on the 2 nd December 2006 to that effect. I take this opportunity to invite all our members to attend this special general meeting which will be followed by our presentation night for the soccer players. Formal notification of this meeting together with the proposed constitution will be issued soon.

We have also launched our website at www.racingsportsclub.com thanks to our webmaster Bruce Elysee. Please take some time to browse the site for updated information on the club.

Once again, I wish to thank everyone for their support and hope to see you all on the presentation night and at our end of year dance to be held at the Blacktown Bowling Club on the 23 rd December 2006.

CONGRATULATION TO ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES. YOU HAVE MADE THE RACING SC PROUD AND HAVE KEPT UP THE CLUB'S LONG STANDING WINNING TRADITION. BOTH FIRST GRADE & RESERVE GRADES WON THE LEAGUE AND AS A RESULT OF THIS THE RACING SC WAS CROWNED SAFL 2006 CLUB CHAMPION. BOTH GRADES ALSO WON THE TOP FOUR FINAL.

STEVEN ALBERT IS THE SAFL 2006 LEADING SCORER AND WAS AWARDED THE LEAGUE 2006 GOLDEN BOOTS. WELL DONE STEVEN. STEVEN RECEIVED THIS AWARD LAST YEAR AND IS GOING FOR THE TRIFECTA NEXT YEAR, GOOD LUCK.

PRESENTATION NIGHT & CHRISTMAS PARTY ON SATURDAY 2 DECEMBER 2006- with DJ Christian NADAL

Our Sport Presentation and Kids XMAS party will be held on Saturday 2 nd of December at Belfield Bowling Club, Margaret Street Belfield starting at 7.00 PM. Free entry to all registered players and financial members and their children under 8 years old.

Dinner will also be supplied to all players, financial Members and their Children under 8. For kids under 8 years old, please contact Patricia Blake on 0408 612 898 or any committee member regarding the number of kids including their age that would be attending by 18 th November 2006 to enable us to purchase the Christmas Presents and cater for their dinner.

All players and other financial members must also contact Patricia on above phone number by the 25th November 2006 to enable us to cater for their dinner.

Any member’s guest who wants to join in is most welcome. The cost for guest for food and entry is $15.00 for single and $25 for couple (includes 2007 membership) and they should bring a toy for their kids. Please also advise Patricia as requested above.
